3-11 Day 2010: Not in New Orleans
Sep 11th, 2009 by Ryan
Today 311 announced some good and bad news about 3-11 day 2010.
The good news is that 3-11 day 2010 is a go.
The bad news is that 3-11 day 2010 will not be held in New Orleans.
Here’s the official release:
As you know, we typically hold our 3-11 Day event in the great city of New Orleans.
Unfortunately, there is a massive medical convention in New Orleans from March 9 - 14, 2010. The convention has reserved 30,000 hotel rooms in New Orleans for convention participants - making hotel rooms extremely scarce & expensive for anyone else traveling to New Orleans during that time period. We have been in discussions with the New Orleans Board of Tourism for many weeks trying to work out a solution to this situation - but with no luck. They cannot guarantee us an adequate number of hotel rooms to accommodate the thousands of dedicated 311 fans that travel to 3-11 Day. And what few rooms they are willing to hold for us are overpriced due to the city-wide convention hotel rates. As a result, in the best interest of 311 fans, we have decided to move 3-11 Day 2010 to another city.
The new location will be announced as soon as possible upon full confirmation. All is in the works. We are exactly 6 months from the event. We will update you as soon as possible on city, venue, special hotel packages, official fan parties and more. We appreciate your patience for further details and your understanding of the location change. 3-11 Day 2010 will certainly be one for the ages…get ready!!!
(New Orleans…311 loves you. It’s unfortunate that 3-11 Day 2010 cannot take place in the Big Easy due to the shortage of hotel rooms that week - but the band is looking forward to the Friday, Dec 4 show in New Orleans on the band’s Fall / Winter Tour. Good times to come!)
Stay tuned for our official 3-11 Day 2010 announcement. Coming soon!
We all like partying in NOLA, but I’m sure the band will come up with a suitable substitute in light of the situation. My personal hope is for a 3-11 day 2010 in Atlanta.
Where would you like to see 3-11 day 2010?
Where the fck did you get that load of bullshit? NOLA celebrates Mardi Grass every year. They arn’t gonna run out of hotel rooms.
New Orleans doesnt want the doctors! we want 311!!!!
Haleigh, all I know is that those people going to the medical convention are going to be pissed when they realize they won’t be able to make it to 3-11 day.
well i just moved to colorado from louisiana , so since it won’t be in louisiana anymore … how about denver
A more central location would be better for everyone. Lexington, KY has more than enough space and to top it off there are 3 college towns within 45 minutes of Lexington 1 of them being UK. You may need to check about Rupp Arena because that is during their basketball season, or even Louisville would work because there are several places out there that could work for such a massive event.
Atlanta would be pretty cool. I liked Memphis though, I wouldnt mind if it was there again. As long as its somewhere reasonably warm that can get me out of the Northeast Im happy. It will be awesome no matter where it is..
Omaha!
I would love the Baltimore/DC area, but I would be cool with Vegas also
forget colorado and kentucky. ATLANTA has proven 311 commitment considering their largest show ever was here! ATLANTAS GOT THE BOOM YALL!
alright, after consideration i would totally be down for some 311 in las vegas…
YO I am with that kid Lunchbox. 311 rocks the whole city when they play in atlanta. ATLANTA ATLANTA
Phillips Arena would be ideal. Lakewood sucks
BRING IT TO ATLANTA! Atlanta needs some 311, straight up. I don’t even care what venue it’s in, if it’s in the ATL, I am DEFINITELY going!
Mike from Michigan here. I’ve been to all 311 days and honestly they have all been awesome. Bitter sweet that it’s not in New Orleans. I’m a realist and know 311 day won’t be in Michigan, so all of you Atlanta people need to relax because Georgia is a rap state not a 311 state so NO on that one. When I think of Atlanta I think of TI and lil’ wayne not 311. Since I spend thousands every year I would like 311 day to feel like a vacation not a road trip to no where. I would like to see it in California,Vegas,Colorado or Florida. Also Memphis was the BEST PERFORMANCE show but otherwise the night life sucked and waiting in line for a floor band was a waste of important “happy” time since the tailgating is half the fun of the day. Either way I love 311 and will go but PLEASE NO ATLANTA or BALTIMORE or KENTUCKY those are drive thru states not party states. Don’t take it personal but your states blow.
Mike is clearly not down for the unity. Mike if Georgia was a “rap state” then why was Atlanta 2006 summer unity tour their largest show EVER with close to 20,000 fans. For the record Mike, Lil Wayne is from New Orleans not Atlanta. Also Mike Atlanta and Baltimore are cities, not states. Im from Atlanta… BUT VEGAS FTW!!!
Thankfully 311 has actually been to Atlanta unlike mike. I can respect that Atlanta is not centrally located enough, however we are talking about an event more important to some than the olympics, and like the olympics Atlanta has earned the right to hold 311 day 2010. Also I completely agree that 3-11-06 in Memphis was the best show I’ve been to, and I even enjoyed waiting in line. So I appreciate you mike for giving your seal of disapproval, but educate yourself before you make assumptions about Atlanta. Sucks it’s a no go in Nola because I was stoked for bourbon st, but ATL or VEGAS 311 2010!
If 311 Day can’t happen in NOLA, then they should move the party to the other city known for its debauchery. I suggest 311 Day 2010 rocks LAS VEGAS, baby!
How about Red Rock?
They should do it somewhere crazy big. Like Ohio State’s Stadium. 100,000. They could def bring that in for a 311 Day.. MSG or Giants Stadium..
The guy from Michigan thinks Atlanta sucks? You’re right, 311 doesn’t belong in Atlanta. They just filmed Homebrew here and “The Little Five Points” mentioned in Never Ending Summer is talking about Atlanta. Add record selling shows to that, and Atlanta sure is a boring “state”!
Vegas? Why not?
Fuckin ATL. reppin the hive since day one.
How can not a single person have said it. 311 day 2010 in Austin, Texas. Live music capital of the world and Texas loves 311. Plenty of hotel space and a great night life. If not Austin my next votes go ATL, always a blast and a hell of a 311 city, then LV, just cant got wrong with sin city.
Having seen them in ATL a couple times including 06 which was a rocking show Atlanta shows as much love for 311 as anyone but who are we kidding. Every town they go to loves them. Let’s just keep it somewhere warm, maybe shift to Houston or somewhere in FLA. Anywhere that has a big venue, is warm, and ready to raise hell all night. I just wish they would announce it already!
how about tucson, AZ? weather’s GREAT in march. cool city, lots of lodging, concert venues, etc.
Hello again all. Mike from Michigan. I appreciate the feedback on my comments earlier and all 311 fans are awesome and I don’t mean to offend or judge who is worthy or not. Much love. I understand all your passion for your area to have 311 day. Like I said I’ve been to all 311 days and have traveled to many states through my short life. I’m just being honest with everyone when I extremly disagree with the requests for a Ohio,Georgia,Tennesse,Kentucky and Maryland. Ohio is a big boring state, yea you had 20,000 plus who cares you guys have nothing else to do THERE!!! To me it’s not about how many people at the concert but how much electricity is in the air. Personally smaller venues have been a much better experience for me. Georgia is a RAP state fellas. Deny it all you want but thats the TRUTH weither TI was born there or not. Tennesse for the most part I liked beale street alot but it wasn’t amazing so lets move on somewhere else people. Kentucky is well kentucky…other then cheap cigs they got what caves? Maryland I’m getting local feedback that its actually pretty cool…I’m sorry but I’m just not buying it and I can’t but hear people from work say “how was your trip to Maryland” and thinking kill me now!!! All I want is a warm venue. Hell if you guys wanna brag about your states then hell Michigan is the home of all good artists and music. Modonna, eminem, white stripes, kid rock. Great venues all over. Also our economy is in the crapper right now and hotels, drugs and prostitutes would be dirt cheap here. LOL. I guess we all will have to wait and see
P.S if all your states have rocking shows then why on average does 311 play 2-6 extra songs on tour for Michigan?
ATLANTA ATLANTA ATLANTA!!!!!
I understand that 311 has a large turnout for most cities they tour through. But if anyone knows how Atlanta throws down it’s 311. 311 has been coming to GA for 20 years!!! Atlanta shows always have HUGE crowds. Nobody is going to drive to Colorado or Michigan(yikes!) but people will drive or fly to Atlanta for our hospitality
Not Atlanta Not Atlanta! I’ll kill myself.
ATLANTAAAAAAA

Mikey, do the planners of 311 day check this website/message board to help them plan where it’s going to be? If not, you’re wasting a lot of your free time/mental energies debating why all of these other cities suck and compiling list of rappers born in ATL. If you weren’t a 311 fan, I’m pretty sure everyone on here that has appreciation/pride for where they live would hate your guts for trying to tell them their state, city, or general area is inferior. Why don’t you just let it be and patiently await the announcement of a city. Wherever it is, you know the turnout will be strong from all the regional supporters and it will be a good show cuz it’s 311 (unless they play a ton of stuff off of the last two albums…i’m sorry, but I am just not feeling them like I felt Music, Self-titled, and grassroots. Can I please hear Brodels live? Maybe even Right Now if we’re going to go old school).
All I care about is that 311 day is somewhere warm and under and 800 mile drive for me.
By the way, Cleveland has the rock and roll hall of fame - why you would discount that entire state for a concert…I don’t know.
VEGAS!!!!!!!!!
311 should go to the Music City… that’s right, NASHVILLE, and show them country blumpkin how to kick it 311 style
Oh the irony of Mikey complaining about Atlanta being only rap then bringing up Eminem as great music from Michigan. Also, Kid Rock doesn’t make your case for great music either. Anyone who thinks there is nothing to do in Atlanta, has never been to Atlanta.
I did some research too
schmucks from Michigan:
mikey.
To be blunt to all, we can all agree that 311 day is about an intimate venue, true fans, love and unity. Regardless where the show is held we will all be there, and 311 will rock that shit. So mikey quit hating on atlanta and rap. I’m from Atlanta and I like hip/hop not rap but hip/hop and I’m pretty sure 311 does to, so even IF Atlanta was a rap city that is irrelevant, I’m going to 311 day for 311. Not local talent.
How about Austin…has a great nightlife scene and is pretty laid back. Perfect atmosphere for 311.
wait did kg say “country blumpkin” lol
Blumpkin….lol!
ATLANTA!!!! or Nashville
ATLANTA!!!!!!!!!!
PS No flames allowed
I’m always up for an adventure! Where are we going?
My first 311 day was in Memphis?, post-Katrina. It was spur of the moment, so I was unaware of other festivities.
What I LOVED about NOLA was the ‘house party’ atmosphere the whole weekend. Every bar played 311 and the fans are always SUPER friendly. It was so much FUN!
It would be wonderful if another town could accomodate the wonderful atmosphere that NOLA graciously provided.
Take care everyone! Hope to see you on 311 Day!
Alicia
San Francisco, baby! Golden Gate Park!!
Wow! This Mikey guy is unbelievable. I can’t believe he went through all the time to find a bunch of crap rappers born in Ga. Bottom line ATLANTA throws down like no other. The possitive vibes are flowing the peeps are jumping higher. It’s just an overall better atmosphere. I dont here in any of there song’s them mentioning Michigan. There are at least 2 Atlanta referances that come to my head. Grassroots drops Atlanta and Neverending Summer does also. ATLANTA would be a great spot for 311 Day 2010 but I’m from Atlanta and would personally like to get my road trip on to another state for the show. But just the fact that 311 would play here for 311 Day would be amazing. Stay possitive and love your life.
Jay
Alright mike from michigan. I am also from michigan and have also been to every 311 day. Now i am not saying I wont turn the Atl trip into somthing special for me and my friends but seriously I dont want to go to a few stupid dance clubs downtown and be anoyed by lots of people that dont know why the group of us is there. I just dont think Atl is a place I would want to spend 3 or 4 days in. In fact our group was talking about it and if in atl we are prolly gonna stay outside of atl doing cool shit (Disk golf mostly) and just drive in for the tailgating and the show and then drive back out. No offence to atl but even through these posts you guys dont seem to friendly. I have herd 311 rocks the shit out of atl but you dont think they would rock the shit out of your own backyard if it was 311 day. To be compleatly honest with you I feel memphis would prolly be best again. They have beal st. and it is very centraly located, but if I had any say in it, it would be out west somewhere. I mean New Orleans has been a long trip for people ive met from out west and I would gladly go out there for a chance to see alot of cool shit and to party with 311 and the fans. So everyone lighten up this is gonna be the best weeks that alot of us have in our whole lives. Make it memorible with good friends good smoke and good times….
Austin!! Nick said himself he loves that city!
I too am from Michigan…can’t judge atl cuz I’ve never been there….but I’d like to see 311 day be in Memphis since I am financially handicapped that would be a shorter cheaper trip for me lol. But I’m not the only person in the world so hopefully whereever it ends up being I will try so hard to be there!!!
I say its dead in the middle of the usa in KANSAS CITY BABY! cant got wrong with BBQ BEER & 311!
There are a few requisites I would imagine for a show like this. First, we all want to go to a place where the show/band runs the town to an extent, or at least all of us who will be getting there a few days early still have a central place to go to and jam to 311. This pushes out big cities in my mind. I like ATL, but as a group the fans would need to try and find place playing 311 during the week just like it was in New Orleans. The big clubs and such would obviously not do this. So if there was a part of ATL we could collectively call our own for the week that would be perfect, otherwise I am thinking Memphis or of course Sodom and Gommorah… otherwise known as Las Vegas. I mean, its a different vibe, but hell yeah.
I may have missed it in an earlier post, but the spot should be a place that is warm, right?!?!?
There are soooo many cities that I would love to see 311 in kids, but we are talking the middle of the winter! I think a fine idea would be Vegas, Miami (SEASON RATES THOUGH…), but I think my most obscure idea was San Antonio. Its a party scene, its southhhhhh and could be a good time. I’m probably the oldest 311 fan (almost 41), but my old ass definitely wants a warm loco!
I’m glad we were able to plan around this horrible situation (not being in NO, especially since me and my baby were so stoked to hit B. Street for the first time….) but thankful that we have plenty of time to plan our first 311 day concert (my 12th at least, forget a few lol).
Peace to all my 311 brothers and sisters and I look forward to meeting you all in “whereversville”!
I can’t take it anymore!!!! Just tell us 311!
i say come home to omaha!!! theres tons of fans here! plus its in the middle of the country so its not too far from anywhere
Vegas would be perfect! Warm, plenty of debauchery, and plenty of small, intimate venues! (House of Blues, The Joint, etc…) AND Fremont Street is closed to traffic at night. It has to be a place where people can party and have easy (non-driving) access to hotels, bars, and the venue.
Check the technique, 311 Day in LA!!!
If hotlanta is so sweet then why isn’t 311 hitting you all up on their 20 city fall tour? I’m gonna guess they can’t handle all that magic you guys give. “I’m not from philly but some say I’m blunt” LMFAO
I’m assuming someone is gonna now write “Mike’s an idiot” blah blah blah.
The rest are gonna say com’on bro 311 is about unity and positivity. Forget that! For every 5 awesome people I meet at 311 day there is always one hard ass who thinks he’s the shit. Then I get elbowed by him in the pit and he gets mad when I retaliat.
Red rocks for 311day would blow. theres no hotels anywhere close to red rocks. plus the place would be covered in snow. I think vegas would be the shit. MGM. atlanta is a dirtbox .
Not going to call you an idiot mikey, but you probably deserved the elbow. I have yet to meet any assholes at any 311 show. I agree though memphis would be cool again. the only vegas issue would me its mass. we would all run into each other potentially, but not like on bourbon st. I say fuck the bullshit I found a hotel room in NOLA lets keep it there!
ps. Mikey i hope we meet at 311 day, to drown our differences in a week of 311 fun times.
Lunchbox my first round of drinks are for you buddy. Much love.
THIS JUST IN. A VERY RELIABLE SOURCE HAS INFORMNED ME THAT 311 DAY 2010 WILL BE HELD IN………………[edited]… WAIT IN THE NEXT WEEK OR SO FOR CONFIRMATION….
Please do not post rumors without official confirmation
ATLANTA!!!!!
Googleing 311 day 2010 rumors leads one to believe that the show will be in MEMPHIS yet again. Thats cool with me though, because Beale St is sick, and tailgating in Memphis was dope as well.
I’d say Omaha since you know..it’s where they’re from
lol this is gonna be my first 311 Day (if I can get the time off..) and two years ago, I was in NO three days after 311 Day 2008 to help build houses for Spring Break, and was standing outside NOLA, I was crying on the inside as on our tours, the driver circled the arena
I talked to the Manager at the UNO Lakefront Arena where it used to be held, and he confirmed this. He said that it is going to be in [edited].
Please do not post unconfirmed rumors
pick a city soooooon. come to new york city =) i want to buy tix/plane tix/hotel for my boyfriend for christmas!
Wherever it is, it should be a party city with a centrally located “strip” like Beale or Bourbon St for the fans to congregate.
While ATL would be an easy drive for me and I have friends there, I HATE driving in ATL, it’s worse than driving in NYC. Sure, we could hang out at 5 points, but you’d have to take a cab there from across town because there’s no parking for miles.
Vegas has a strip but I don’t know if the clubs will be 311 friendly like in NOLA or how $$ everything else will be. Also many of my east coast friends won’t be able to make Vegas and 311 day is as much about partying with my friends as it is the show for me.
I love Austin and it has 6th street and even the 311 Club (it’s called that because it’s at 311 6th st). It is centrally located and the weather should be nice.
Kansas City is too full of aggro fans, worst show fan-wise that I’ve ever been to.
RedRocks is an awesome place to see them in the SUMMER and there is a very unifying vibe there (probably because of the decriminalization of a certain something. But it will be most likely be snowing in March.
Not sure about Tuscon, never been there but once again some east coasters won’t be able to make it.
Nashville, meh, I hear banjos in the background…..
LA, Miami, NYC, SF, all too pricey and not 311 friendly enough. Omaha? Seriously? Not only will the weather still be sucky, there’s nothing else to do there, and you know there’s going to be some rabid fans stalking the relatives’ houses. Creepy.
Until we hear something I’m still waiting ….(song reference fully intended)
I would love to see 311 Day at Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. There is such a good vibe here. And weed is legal. I live here and was going to travel to New Orleans so I wouldn’t feel guilty about people traveling to beautiful Cali.
Bring 311 Day to Tampa Bay area! The weather is great in March!
Austin, TX baby! Live music capital of the world and home of the hottest college girls in the nation!
ATL !!!!!!!
KANSAS CITY!!!!!!!
Omaha would rock!! I know there’s not a ton of stuff to do, but there are some things and it would be cheaper than alot of other cities. Plus it’s centrally located. We have an arena that could hold up to 18,000 located really close to the downtown strip.
OMAHA! That’s where their root are, why not!? Bring 311 Day back home!
Where it all began… OMAHA, NE. Bring them home.
NEW YORK CITY!!
rumor has it that p-nut has said that the announcment will happen tomorrow. Also, from what I have been hearing concert promoters in memphis have leaked that 311 day will indeed be in memphis again 2010…..all of this is just rumors though
Dallas!!!
PHILLY! pleasssssseeeeeeeeeee
So nobody’s mentioned this…how about Savannah, GA? MUCH better/cheaper/more fun atmosphere than ATL, river street’s got them nice open container laws, and it’ll be nice and warm come march.
i mean, let’s face it…i’ve lived in ATL all my life and know how much we all love our 311 here, but this is just NOT a destination city. no unity, everything’s spread out. gotta be somewhere that everyone can congregate at after the show!
How about Pittsburgh? It’s been a while since you’ve been here anyway, right?
Denver, CO… RED ROCKS! Get it done. Middle of everywhere.
Hi, I am from Seattle, WA. I have seen 311 in Seattle, Portland (Oregon), Salt Lake City, Tallahassee, New Orleans, Denver, Las Vegas, Boston, New York, Jersey, DC, Philadelphia, and all over California, and up in Canada. New Orleans is BY FAR the coolest city; not just to see 311, but also to spend time visiting during the day and night when not at the show. I am devastated to not be going in back to NO in March. I (like many others) had been looking forward to it since the last 311 day. However, since I have actually seen them all over the country, my vote would be for somewhere on the east coast (New York or Boston) or Vegas….lots to do in those cities. I have see 311 at Red Rocks and it is actually not very impressive…sorry Denver. I don’t like that you HAVE to sit down, there is no pit, and there is not much to do in the city besides wait for the show to start. I also don’t know if Red Rocks is even open in March…I kind of doubt it since they get snow in Denver. I think it is only opened seasonally (in the summer). I could be wrong about that though. 311 day without a pit would suck….so Red Rocks would not work for that reason alone. I just want them to hurry and decide. Obviously I am willing to go anywhere, I just want to know what they choose. I am guessing it will be Vegas or Los Angeles, but that is just a guess.
VEGAS would be fuckin sick its got all the night life and then some and plenty of hotel rooms to go around. but if not there totally Cali
I have been freaking out since the 11th… the madness needs to end I cannot take it anymore!
It will be Memphis again.
Somewhere warm. Preferably in east lol even though Vegas would be dope, so far for a lot of people, I know I wouldn’t be able to make it. How about Nashville, usually gets warm by March there. DC/Baltimore would be ideal for many, central location then again can be cold still. Anxious to hear where it will be!!
bring it to vegas baby!
St. Louis…. 5 Reasons why it will be there….
1). Saint Louis University just built Chaifetz Arena which is the exact same size as UNO Lakefront Arena, but brand new. Perfect venue for 311 Day.
2). Laclede’s Landing is a party area that 311 fans could dominate and is 5 minutes from the arena. It even has 2 casinos on it for all you hyping Vegas.
3). Centrally located for all the drivers
4). Warm enough weather in March
5). Birth place of the Blues.
If not in St. Louis hopefully it is somewhere that is somewhat centrally located (Memphis again although Beale Street kind of sucked after the 06 show).
Vegas is too spread out for the day which is why 311 wont host it there. They love the congregation of fans after the show in one area.
It’s in Las Vegas.
Ok, for me choice number one is AUSTIN, TX. Awesome nightlife, awesome people, plenty of accommodations and centrally located for all the US travelers.
Choice number two (which is closer to me, but still number two!) would have to be Atlanta. ATL also has a GREAT nightlife and plenty of accommodations.
And, to play the advocate, what about Omaha, NE? For most of us, I think it could be the only time we go there and actually be in 311’s town!!
Wherever it will be, I am there with bells on, ready to paint whatever town red, red, red!!! 311 GOT THE BOOM Y’ALL!!!!
This is starting to be gay. Why won’t they just announce this shit! Almost a month and the website keeps saying info soon.
If you’ve read all these posts you know im from atlanta. after some serious consideration (since we’ve all had plenty of time to think about it) i hope the show isn’t in atlanta. nowhere to party really, and not a small enough venue. i tiny venue, a banging ass setlist, and row of bars to kick it in days before and the night of the show. vegas realistically wont happen because it is such a big town and getting the ‘hive” together would be insane, St. Louis sounded cool, and Memphis would be straight. I hope it is far from atlanta so our crew can road trip it. and if you cant make it to wherever it is, you need to reevaluate your priorities we’re talking about 311 DAY!
How about we move onto setlist recommendations:
JUAN BOND
OUTSIDE
VISIT (well all of MUSIC honestly)…
…. Fuck it play EVERYTHING! GO FOR 9 HOURS!
I heard they were playing in Indianapolis
I had a dream one night that they slowed down some of their more upbeat songs like HIVE and SALSA, to a more mellow beat with the same lyrics (probably will happen in a decade or so, once they can’t exactly rock the show as hard.) That said, I love the 311 rap, it’s the best there is. The one song i’ve never seen live is SALSA, there may be a few others but with a dozen shows and 311 DAY ‘08 under my belt, i think i’ve heard most everything.. What about LITTLE BROTHER!? Never heard that live either…
What do you guys think they should cover this 311 DAY!? My vote is for Beastie Boys in honor of cancer stricken MCA (get well soon Adam!)
Oh, and the original debate. My vote: Austin, TX or Las Vegas.. But the Atlanta rumor is valid, several songs pay tribute. Wherever it is, it’s gonna rock the fuckin’ block!
STAY POSITIVE, LOVE YOUR LIFE.
Change it up…bring the show to Boston. Plenty of nightlife, TD Bank Garden could hold it…and that;s located in a great area of the city.
All of the Boston area shows have a good turnout…and there are certainly the hotels to accommodate the show.
MA got one of the 10th anniversary shows several years ago for a reason…and we got the Blue Album from start to finish that night.
I love me some NOLA. The ATL…not a place people travel to regularly. Vegas…the show wouldn’t get the city-wide rec it deserves. And, by virtue of being a Bostonian, I can’t give my vote to NYC
Bring it to Beantown…
I dont understand how vegas is not central and people wouldnt be close together… what if people coordinate and stay in the same hotels or hotels right next to eachother. ya they probably wouldnt play 311 throughout the strip, but seeing other fans and all the excitement would still be there.
Vegas and 311!!! -would be the shit.
plus if you listen to that new pnut phone interview, the only place he says it will be is in vegas.
they could play at the hard rock. even better would be the MGM.
To all my peoples:
I am from Denver and been to all 311 days. I agree, Denver would be a sick ass site for this coming 311 day, however the weather in Denver in March is entirely too unpredictable. It could be 70, or it could be an arctic blizzard, so I am gonna have to unfortunately say no to this. When I got the announcement about not being in New Orleans, my first thought was Omaha, to bring it back to the band’s roots. I thought Memphis was an amazing performance, but it was in the biggest shit-hole arena, in the middle of the projects practically. Felt like I was going to be shot leaving the arena. My 4 guesses for 2010 are:Atlanta, Vegas, Omaha, or Los Angeles in no particular order. Either way, I will definitely see you all there! Stay positive, and love your life! Cheers!
And I agree, PLAY “SALSA” please!!! By far one of my favorite 311 tunes!
NEW YORK CITY
In a band meeting figuring out 311 Day. Lots of details to iron out. Almost done. It’s gonna be great! Hope to announce midweek. (14th-ish) - Nick Hexum’s Twitter page
Looks like today maybe tomorrow could be the day we final find out where 311-day will be!!!!
Have 311 in Omaha Nebraska!
or Virginia
or somewhere near the middle of the US…
Too bad about New Orleans. I was really really looking forward to it. Especially since New Orleans deemed 3/11 as 311 Day. Know what I mean. Anyway, love you guys. Keep up doing mankind a favor.

I’m a little late to the post but wanted to get my two cents in.
Atlanta would be an awesome place to have 311 day. Not at Lakewood, but Philips Arena. There is a great party environment downtown, and it is definitely “grassroots” for the band. They made their bones playing here. Halloween night at the Tabernacle ring any bells?
July 4th 2009 311 Summer Unity Tour in ATL, after the show was over Nick says, “We fuckin love this town”. What more do you need? Ive seen 15 311 shows in towns other than Atlanta and never heard those words uttered.
311 day needs to stay in New Orleans!!!!!!!!!
